Previous Story Reggie Brown Rick Hoeft knew immediately what happened to Reggie Brown although most of us didn't understand the severity until moments later. He went through the same ordeal and explains what it's like to suffer a bruise on the spine. His neurosurgeon Dr. Lawrence Rapp says the injuries are very serious. Dr. Collon-Team doctor-"There has been significant injury to the upper portion of his cervical spine. It's just a matter of time to see what the level of damage will be." Although Reggie Brown's contusion occurred in the neck the road to recovery will be the same. Doctors describe Reggie's and Rick's injury as being similar as the bruise on a banana. For Rick, seeing Lion's linebacker Reggie Brown lying on the football field brought back many memories. Rick Hoeft-Suffered Spinal Injury-"It paralyzed me..I had no feeling and I really know what it felt like for Reggie Brown." Although Reggie Brown's contusion occurred much higher in the neck than Rick's, doctors predict the road to recovery will be similar.
